2011 Titleist ProV1 Golf Ball

Titleist Golf have introduced the new Prov1 golf ball for 2011 onwards. The Pro V1 has been a massive cash cow for Titleist, used by tour pros and club golfers the world over. The top end ball claims to provide long distance and soft landing and feel around the green. Drop-And-Stop technology is what made Titleist have such great success with the Pro V1.

The new Titleist Pro V1 golf ball offers all the same features as the old one, but Titleist are saying the new ball offers a more consistent flight and increased spin. The increased spin will help Mr Vokey sell more of the new Vokey wedges that feature the new low spin grooves. The marketing team I am sure are already poised with their low spin grooves and high spin Pro V1 posters.

The Pro V1 golf ball is a very successful ball and the new ball will preform well and maybe better than the other balls on the market, but it's hard not just to see a new box and marketing blurb rather than a new golf ball. That said I use the Pro V1 and do get a great level of control around the greens with it.

Below is the Titleist blurb.

The new Pro V1 provides the exceptional distance and durability golfers have counted on, and now also delivers increased spin control and a more consistent flight. This advanced performance results from a new innovative ZG process core technology, responsive ionomeric casing layer, Urethane Elastomer cover and spherically tiled 352 tetrahedral dimple design. And with 3 axes of symmetry, our new aerodynamics deliver a penetrating ball flight that holds its line in the wind.
